My personal favorite: Shopbop!

I love, love, love shopbop.com. It is a great site for a young women who loves a more eclectic style. It is much more affordable than the high-end designer sites like the Bergdorf's, Neiman's & net-a-porter's. Thats because most of their featured designers are of the contemporary variety like Foley & Corinna, Alice + Olivia, Anna Sui, VPL and the always lovely DVF. Oh I could shop on it for hours and still not see everything. It is so user accessible. The look books are always fresh and fierce - highlighting the new trends for the season - and the sales are always going on. Here are some cute new things for Spring they're selling.

Let's start with something classic. I love Theory. I think their clothes are always on point with basic, flattering silohuettes and clean cuts that highlight the frame. It is so upper-east sider to me. I happen to work very close to a theory store and from their window display to the sales people - everything screams polished. This summer dress is no different. Dress it down during the day or add a skinny belt and high open toe heels and you've got an evening look. $355.

Another designer I love on shopbop is VPL. The clothing they make is always really cool. Hot colors, sexy concept and young. This Breaker tank is the most extreme color combination I've seen so far from them (they have a whole array of colors for this popular tank) but since bright colors are still all the rage- I thought I'd include it. $175.

This Sue Kemp dress is too beautiful for words. This is what I'd wear if I ever landed a killer interview with a fashion firm. It screams glamazon and is so delicate and feminine, but still flirtatious with the plunged back - there is not one thing I dislike about this dress. The color may not be as flattering to pale skin like mine, but put this on someone with a bit more color and they will have everyones eyes on them all night. $775.

These Omelle shoes are to die for. In fact, I encourage anyone who reads this to check out their spring line. It is innovative, feminine and intriguingly wearable. This was my favorite pair out of the bunch (though it was a close call between these and some killer open toe booties with a ribbon closure). They are $695.

Another great pair of shoes! I have been adding them to my virtual shopping cart for months - but never actually manning up and purchasing them. I  am still holding out for the chance they may go on sale. I love the minimal splash of color, I think when color is used like this has the ability to translate personality through fashion. These Davis by Ruthie Davis shoes are so great. The beige color with the divine peep toe is so perfect for day wear and the yellow heel with the piping and neon toe accent make this shoe something wearable at any occasion- professional or partying. Love it! $685.

The next look is super casual and something I would love to have for a scorching summer day in Los Angeles (where I live). It's hip, it's easy, it's resort casual and the material is very suitcase friendly. I think I may just purchase this one. The dress is by Ever and is $187.

Last but not least is yet another romper! I know I already posted a romper but this one is nice too - and much dressier. The deep blue color is captivating and the slinky fabric and contrasting straps make it feel a lot more elegant to me. It's a Laila Azhar romper and I think it would look great with a summer tan and gold jewelry accessorizing the look. $345.

The Fabulous net-a-porter!

How incredible is net-a-porter? I mean, half the "where to buy" captions of each months vogue and vanity direct you immediately to net-a-porter. Not to mention it updates with new buys every Monday and Wednesday making any fashionista as ADHD as myself extremely happy. And the designers, ooooh the designers! There are so many gorgeous expensive things at my fingertips once I'm there that my bank is already calling. Stella? Check. Louboutin? Check. Chloe? Check. Philip Lim? Check. Is anyone else flustered? And let me tell you, when net-a-porter cleans house, the deals are killer! I'll keep you posted as to when that happens- but for now let's look at some of their new listings that are drool worthy.

As a tribute to my painful addiction - my first photo posted must be of shoes. These Guiseppe shoes are crazy! Now, I don't know if I'd ever rock them because I think with my height and curvy frame it may come off a little hookerish - but I can totally see the fabulous LA girls pairing these with black skinny jeans and a casual top and it being hot. Whether you think these shoes are too much or not - they are certainly fierce. $750.

On the other hand, these
Loeffler Randall boots are classic, timeless and have such an undenible elegance. I love them. I am a high heel addict and hate most wedges, but the kitten heel sized wedge in the back is done beautifully. These shoes are what I picture a glamour girl relaxing in. $750

Known for creating incredible party pieces and repeated "who's that girl" stares - Is 3.1 Phillip
Lim. Both this dress, and vest scream cocktail chic perfect for any night where you want all eyes on you. Dress at $925, vest at $850.

Meow, La Perla. This bathing suit screams Bond sex kitten, doesn't it? It is old Hollywood glamour and I dig it. $560

Alexander McQueen is the mad scientist of fashion this year. Most fashion fanatics have by now seen his new line at Paris Fashion week, and if not - you must! It's wild. He mixed textures,
silhouettes and patterns with wild abandon and the result was genius. As the Associated press said "it was beauty transformed into ugliness and then back to beauty again". I love that description.
Anyways, net-a-porter has two of his new accessories on there (as well as many pieces) and I found both this belt and clutch striking. I love the geometric shape of the belt and think the smoke effect on the clutch is a great addition. Belt (left) at $825 and clutch (right) at $1,180.

Matthew Williamson is taking a color burst pattern and applying it to many different designs this season. From pattern covered bikini's to make up cases to clutches -it's clear he certainly loves this print. My personal favorite use of the pattern is on the "Bright Escape Cuff" - it's a bracelet that brings the right amount of color to any outfit missing an extra touch. $375.

Those damn twins have done it to me again! I love this trench to dress design. This dress transforms! It is a trench, dress and shrug (right) all in one! Elizabeth and James hit the nail on the head with this one, and at $595, that's not that bad, is it?

And finally, this Chloe romper is too cute! You can dress this up with accessories and killer shoes or just rock it casual with some gladiator flats and some big sunglasses. I bet my life that the young hollywood startlet's will be pretending to hate the papparazzi in this outfit very soon. $395

Me! Me! Me!

Hey there World Wide Weber's!
So, this would be my first blog post! Crazy right? I've wanted to start a blog for a long time, as I love my sisters (strangebirdy.blogspot.com), but I never really knew something that I liked to think about on a daily basis that was a pleasure, not a requirement, that other people may also care about. Then I realized- Designer fashion; where to buy it, and where to buy it for less!
You see, I'm obsessed with web window shopping uber-luxurious products, and have been since I was about 16! And since I've been doing it for so long now I know a lot of great sites and I know when and where they have the best sales. I am a young professional who is also a Louboutin-fanatic (shoes are a sickness of mine) and those shoes draw a lot of attention - attenion which has lead to a lot of conversation with fellow pump freaks and general fashionites.
I've come to the conclusion from these women, that although most fabulous young females love to die for designers as much as I do - a lot don't know where and how to shop for these fashions and actually attain the pieces they lust after. I'm here to share the knowledge I have on this subject. I am here to share what I personally lust for in fashion, trends and people I think are fierce, and give direct links to sites with killer product sales. Also, i hope to include other art, poetry and words that move me, as I think it all stimulates the same basic creative nerve in us.
So here it goes! Eek! I know this is my taste and people may hate it- but "que sera, sera" I suppose.

Thanks for reading!
Sydney

P.S. Another thing I should mention - I may know where to find this stuff, and even find it up to 50% off, but I never could figure out how to afford it - if anyone has a solution for that one please let me know ;)
